What Kling is good at, and where it stops

Reach for Kling when

  • You want one prompt at three budgets. A 5-second test on 2.5 Turbo Pro is 105 credits; the same idea at 12 seconds and 1080p on 3.0 Pro is 540. Same picker, same prompt box.
  • You are starting from a still you already like. Image-to-video and text-to-video cost exactly the same on all three versions, so animating a frame you have already approved costs nothing extra.
  • The shot is one continuous camera move. Kling handles a single move per clip well, and 5 or 10 seconds is about the length a dolly, an orbit or a crane needs to arrive.
  • You want 12 seconds without Seedance 2.5 money. Kling 3.0 Pro renders a 12-second 720p clip for 420 credits; the same slot on Seedance 2.5 is 1,890.

Use a different model when

  • You need a length other than 5 or 10 seconds and you are on 2.6 or 2.5 Turbo Pro. The duration enum for those four model ids is exactly 5 and 10, so 4, 8 and 12 are rejected outright and the length picker swaps its options the moment you select them.
  • You want 1080p from 2.6 or 2.5 Turbo Pro. Neither has a resolution parameter at all, which is why 720p is the only tier offered for them and the only tier they are priced at. 1080p on Kling means 3.0 Pro.
  • You have more than one reference image. Every Kling version here forwards exactly one still to the model, so there is no second frame, no last-frame anchor and no multi-image style reference.
  • The clip has to arrive with sound. Kling renders are submitted with the sound parameter off, both because the quoted credit price is the without-audio rate and because the workflow lays its own track over the result. Every Kling file you get back is silent.
  • You are burning through volume tests. At 21 credits per second, 2.5 Turbo Pro is the cheapest Kling on the site and still about two and a half times the per-second rate of Seedance 1.5 Pro at 720p.

Picking between 2.5 Turbo Pro, 2.6 and 3.0 Pro

The version list looks like a quality ladder, and it is not quite one. What actually separates the three Klings is which controls exist. Kling 3.0 Pro is the only version with a resolution setting, and the only one that renders 4, 8 or 12 seconds. Kling 2.6 and Kling 2.5 Turbo Pro render 5 seconds or 10 seconds at 720p, and that is the whole list, because those are the only values their API accepts.

So the shot usually decides for you. A 10-second establishing shot with no text and no logo in it: 2.5 Turbo Pro, 210 credits, keep the change. A hero shot that will sit full-bleed at the top of a page: 3.0 Pro at 1080p. Kling 2.6 sits in the middle at 138 credits for 5 seconds, and it is the version most people settle on, because most clips are 5 seconds and most clips are not hero shots. If the hero shot also needs dialogue, Veo 3.1 Fast is the other flagship here and a different set of trade-offs.

How Kling 3.0 pricing works here

Credits are the only unit. A clip's price is the model's base rate multiplied by its length and, on Kling 3.0 Pro, by its resolution. The figure on the generate button comes from the same pricing table the server charges against, so the quote and the charge cannot drift apart.

One consequence of the fixed duration set catches people out. You might read the 2.5 Turbo Pro and 2.6 rows as 84 and 110 credits, because those are the base rates for a 4-second clip, but neither version has a 4-second setting. Their real floors are the 5-second prices, 105 and 138, and the cheapest Kling clip you can buy here is 105 credits. Plan and credit-pack sizes are on the pricing page.

Credits come from a monthly plan or a one-time pack, and they are spent per accepted render. When a generation fails on the provider's side, the credits for it are returned to your balance automatically.

Starting from a still

All three versions take either a text prompt or a reference image. Image-to-video costs exactly the same as text-to-video on every Kling version here, so starting from a frame you already like never costs extra.

One image, though. That is the cap on every Kling version here, and it is a property of the request itself rather than a setting you can raise: each one forwards the first image and nothing after it. So there is no way to hand Kling a character sheet. If you need a look to survive across several shots, fix the frame first in Seedream or Nano Banana, then feed that one approved frame to Kling once per shot.

Second thing worth knowing about image-to-video: on Kling 2.6 and 2.5 Turbo Pro the aspect-ratio picker does not reach the model. Their image-to-video requests carry the prompt, the duration and your image, and nothing else, so the clip comes out in whatever shape the still is. Crop to 9:16 before you upload if you want a vertical clip. Kling 3.0 Pro does send an aspect ratio alongside the image.

Kling clips come back silent

Every Kling generation on SynthPulse is submitted with sound switched off. That is deliberate on both counts: the with-audio tier is priced differently upstream, and the credit figure on the generate button is the without-audio rate. Writing "she says hello" or "waves crashing on rocks" into a Kling prompt gets you the picture of someone talking and the picture of waves. No audio track.

If the clip needs a soundtrack rather than dialogue, that is what the song-to-video workflow is for. It generates a track, cuts it into segments, renders one Kling shot per segment and lays the song back over the result. Kling 3.0 Pro is the default video model there, and inside the workflow it accepts any whole second from 3 to 15, not just the 4, 8 and 12 the create page offers.

The track itself comes from Suno, and the segment lengths are cut to the song rather than the other way round. If you want a clip that arrives with its own audio baked in, Kling is the wrong shelf entirely.

Where Kling sits among the other video models

Kling is neither the cheapest nor the most expensive button on the video page, and the spread is wider than people expect. Seedance 1.5 Pro renders a 4-second 720p clip for 35 credits, a quarter of what Kling 3.0 Pro charges for the same thing. Seedance 2.5 charges 630 for it. Veo 3.1 Fast is the strange one: its pricing row carries no duration multiplier at all, so its 4-second and 8-second clips both cost 150 credits.

Resolution is not where these models separate: Kling 3.0 Pro, Seedance and Veo 3.1 Fast all top out at 1080p here. Length is. Kling 2.6 and 2.5 Turbo Pro stop at 10 seconds, Veo 3.1 Fast at 8, and Kling 3.0 Pro, Seedance and MiniMax H3 reach 12. Kling prompt examples you can copy

These are written for the inputs Kling actually has here, which is a shorter list than most prompt guides assume. No audio directions, because sound is off. No clip length in the text, because length is a dropdown that also sets the price. No negative prompt and no seed, because neither is sent. What is left is subject, motion, camera and light, and Kling holds up best when the camera gets one instruction rather than three.

  • One camera move, 5 seconds

    Slow dolly-in on a rain-slicked side street at night, neon signage reflected in the puddles, a single figure in a grey raincoat walking away from camera. Shallow depth of field, 35mm, faint handheld shake.

    One camera instruction, one subject, one lighting note. Five seconds is roughly one move; asking for a dolly-in and a pan in the same clip usually gets you neither.

  • Image-to-video from a single still

    The subject turns their head slowly to the left and blinks once. Everything else in the frame stays still. Camera locked off.

    With a reference image, describe only what moves. The framing, the colour and (on 2.6 and 2.5 Turbo Pro) the aspect ratio all come from your still, so re-describing the scene just competes with it.

  • Twelve seconds on 3.0 Pro, one arc

    Close on a potter's hands centring a lump of wet clay on a spinning wheel. The camera pulls back and rises to reveal the whole studio: dust in the window light, shelves of finished bowls behind. One continuous take, no cuts.

    Twelve seconds is long enough for a move that arrives somewhere, which is the only reason to pay 420 credits at 720p or 540 at 1080p for it. Say "one continuous take, no cuts" or the model will sometimes cut to fill the length.

  • Product shot at 1080p

    A matte black ceramic mug on a raw concrete slab, steam rising steadily. The camera orbits 90 degrees to the right at a constant speed. Soft overcast key from the left, no hard shadows. Nothing else enters the frame.

    The last sentence earns its place. On product shots the usual failure is a hand or a second object drifting in. 1080p is Kling 3.0 Pro only, and this one is 180 credits at 4 seconds.

  • Holding a look across several shots

    Shot on 16mm film, visible grain, slightly warm colour cast, 1970s documentary look. A wheat field in late afternoon wind, camera at waist height pushing slowly forward.

    Put the film-stock clause first and keep it byte-identical in every shot of the sequence. No Kling version here takes a seed or a style reference, so the wording of that opening clause is the only continuity control you have.

Is Kling 3.0 free?

No. Kling 3.0 Pro renders cost credits, and there is no free generation credit on SynthPulse at the moment. Creating an account is free and needs no card, so you can open the editor, build your prompt and read the exact credit price of a clip before you decide to buy credits.

How much does a Kling 3.0 video cost?

Kling 3.0 Pro is 140 credits for a 4-second 720p clip, 280 credits for 8 seconds and 420 credits for 12 seconds. The same lengths at 1080p are 180, 360 and 540 credits. Kling 2.6 is 138 credits for 5 seconds and 275 for 10 seconds; Kling 2.5 Turbo Pro is 105 and 210.

Is there a Kling 3.0 API?

Kling publishes an API through its own platform and through resellers, and SynthPulse generates on top of one of them. SynthPulse itself is a web app rather than a public API: you get the same Kling versions without managing keys, callbacks, polling or retries. What is the difference between Kling 2.6 and Kling 3.0?

Kling 3.0 Pro renders at up to 1080p in 4, 8 or 12 second clips and follows long, specific prompts more literally. Kling 2.6 renders 720p in fixed 5 or 10 second clips and costs less per second. For background and b-roll shots 2.6 is usually enough; for a hero shot with camera movement, 3.0 Pro is worth the extra credits.

Can I use my own image with Kling?

Yes. Kling 2.5 Turbo Pro, Kling 2.6 and Kling 3.0 Pro all support image-to-video: upload a still, describe the motion you want, and the clip starts from your frame. The credit price is identical to text-to-video.

Do Kling videos have sound?

No. Every Kling generation here is submitted with the sound parameter off, and the credit price quoted is the without-audio rate, so clips come back as silent video files. To score a clip, use the song-to-video workflow, which generates a track and lays it over the rendered shots.

How many reference images can I use with Kling?

One. All three Kling versions accept a single still, and the request carries exactly that one image, so extra uploads would never reach the model. On Kling 2.6 and 2.5 Turbo Pro the clip also takes its aspect ratio from that image, so crop it before you upload.

How should I write a Kling 3.0 prompt?

Name one subject, one camera move and one lighting condition, and leave length and resolution to the dropdowns, since those two set the price. Kling takes no negative prompt and no seed here, so the opening clause of the prompt is the only style control you have across a sequence.
