Cheapest and most expensive clipSeedance 1.5 Pro at 480p for 4 seconds is 18 credits, the lowest video price on SynthPulse. Seedance 2.5 at 1080p for 12 seconds is 3,420, the highest. Same family, same dropdown.

Where Seedance earns its price, and where it does not

Reach for it when

  • You need one unbroken 12-second take. Kling 2.6 and Kling 2.5 Turbo Pro here accept 5 or 10 seconds and nothing else; every Seedance version does 4, 8 or 12 at any resolution.
  • You are delivering 1080p. That is the tier where 2.5 stops being a luxury: 1,140 credits against 1,020 for 2.0, about 12% apart.
  • The composition already exists as a still. Upload it and 2.0 or 2.5 uses it as the literal first frame, so you iterate on motion instead of re-rolling the framing.
  • You want to try a lot of ideas cheaply. 1.5 Pro at 480p for 4 seconds is 18 credits, the lowest video price on SynthPulse, and it takes the prompts the expensive tiers take.

Pick something else when

  • The shot needs sound. Every Seedance submission here sets generate_audio to false, and the prices quoted are that silent tier. Veo 3.1 Fast is the only video model SynthPulse does not mute.
  • You have several reference images. Only the first is sent. Kie's API accepts up to 30 on 2.5 and 9 on 2.0; the builder here forwards one first frame.
  • You need longer than 12 seconds. Seedance 2.5 goes to 30 upstream. The picker here stops at 12.
  • You are still hunting for the prompt. A 12-second 1080p clip on 2.5 is 3,420 credits, the dearest single generation on the site, and quantity buys no discount: up to 4 per submit, each charged in full.
  • Budget decides it at 720p. Kling 3.0 Pro renders 4 seconds of 720p for 140 credits against 630 on Seedance 2.5, and 1080p for 180 against 1,140.

Three versions, and a price gap that is not what it looks like

Seedance is ByteDance's video family, and three versions of it sit behind one picker here. At the baseline every other setting multiplies against, 4 seconds at 720p, they cost 35 credits on 1.5 Pro, 410 on 2.0 and 630 on 2.5. Eighteen times, end to end, out of the same prompt box.

The usual read is that 2.5 costs half again what 2.0 does. That holds at 720p and collapses one step up: the same 4-second clip at 1080p is 1,020 credits on 2.0 against 1,140 on 2.5, about 12% apart, because 1080p multiplies 2.0's base by 2.49x and 2.5's by only 1.81x. Picking 2.0 there out of habit saves 120 credits and gives up a generation of quality for them. Every combination is priced out in the Seedance 2.0 and 2.5 guide, resolution by resolution.

Draft cheap, finish once

Length bills strictly per second on all three versions. Eight seconds is exactly double, twelve exactly triple, and the longer take earns no discount. Three separate 4-second clips cost what one 12-second clip costs and hand you three attempts instead of one.

480p is the part people miss. It is cheaper than the base tier, not dearer: 0.44x on 2.5, 0.46x on 2.0, half price on 1.5 Pro. A 4-second 480p draft on Seedance 1.5 Pro is 18 credits, the cheapest video generation on this site, and it reads the same prompt the expensive tiers read.

The ladder, then. Find the shot on 1.5 Pro at 480p, six tries for 108 credits, then re-run the prompt that worked on 2.5 at the resolution you are shipping. 108 plus 1,140, against 1,140 every time you guess at the top. Switching version keeps your prompt, so moving up is one dropdown in the video studio. Credits come from a subscription or a one-off top-up and the clip costs the same either way, so read the credit plans before the first render rather than after it.

Text-to-video, or animate a still you already control

Both directions cost the same on every Seedance version. Starting from a frame carries no surcharge.

What changes is what you gamble on each run. Text-to-video re-rolls the whole composition every time. Upload a still and 2.0 and 2.5 send it as the literal first frame, so the clip opens on exactly that image and motion is the only variable left. Make the still first if the frame is already in your head: Seedream 5.0 Pro is 18 credits at 1K and Nano Banana Pro is 45, and either output drops straight into the video form as the reference.

The prompt has to change with the direction. Do not describe the subject again. The model can see it, and repeating the description invites it to redraw the frame you just composed. Describe the movement, then say what holds still.

The clips come back silent

Every Seedance request SynthPulse sends carries generate_audio set to false. Upstream, 2.0 and 2.5 default it to true and bill for it, so the mute is deliberate: the figures on this page are the silent tier, and that is the tier you are buying.

Plan sound as its own step. An editor covers most of it, or pull a track from the song studio, which draws on the same credit balance. If the shot lives or dies on dialogue, Veo 3.1 Fast is the one video model here that is not muted on submit. It has a quirk of its own: no duration multiplier at all, so 8 seconds costs what 4 seconds costs.

When Kling is simply the better buy

Seedance has to earn its premium on the specific shot in front of you, and it does not always. Four seconds of 720p is 140 credits on Kling 3.0 Pro against 630 on Seedance 2.5. At 1080p it is 180 against 1,140, more than six times over. The Kling page carries the rest of that family's prices.

What Kling cannot do here is the long unbroken take. Kling 2.6 and Kling 2.5 Turbo Pro accept 5 or 10 seconds and nothing else, so a 12-second continuous shot comes from Seedance or from Kling 3.0 Pro, which does 12 seconds of 1080p for 540 credits. Seedance offers 4, 8 or 12 at all three resolutions, on all three versions.

The cheap way to settle it is to run one prompt at both floors, 18 credits on Seedance 1.5 Pro and 140 on Kling 3.0 Pro, and look at the two clips. A shot-by-shot comparison is already written up if you would rather read than spend.

Prompts that survive a version change

Seedance answers to shot descriptions, not wishes. The order that works: subject, action, camera, framing, light, grade. All three versions read a prompt the same way, which is the whole reason drafting on 1.5 Pro is worth anything.

  • Moving camera

A courier in a yellow rain shell pushes a bicycle up a narrow cobbled street. Camera dollies backward ahead of her at walking pace, chest height. Medium shot, 35mm, shallow focus. Overcast light, wet stone throwing back a dull sheen. Desaturated greens and greys, fine grain.

Name the camera behaviour or the model invents a drift you did not ask for. One continuous move, no cut.

  • Locked off

A glass of iced tea on a windowsill. The ice shifts once and settles, condensation running down the side. Camera does not move. Close-up, eye level, 85mm, background fully out of focus. Hard mid-morning sun through the glass. Warm highlights, neutral whites.

One small event, four seconds, nothing else asked for. Request two actions inside a 4-second clip and you usually get a smear where the second starts.

  • First frame

The ferry slides left to right across the frame and out of shot. Camera stays locked off. Only the ferry, its wake and the gulls move; the shoreline, the moored boats and the sky hold still.

For image-to-video, where your still is the first frame. Motion only: naming the subject again invites the model to redraw what you composed.

  • Reveal

Drone lifts vertically out of a pine forest, through the canopy and above the treetops, uncovering a valley under low fog. One continuous rise, no tilt, no cut. Flat overcast light, desaturated greens, haze in the distance.

Twelve seconds is as long as this move gets here, and on 2.5 at 1080p that is 3,420 credits. Find it on 1.5 Pro at 480p for 53 first.

Seedance questions

How much does Seedance 2.0 cost?

A 4-second 720p clip on Seedance 2.0 is 410 credits: 190 at 480p, 1,020 at 1080p. Length is linear, so 12 seconds of 1080p comes to 3,060. The generate button shows the exact figure for the combination you have selected before you submit, and a render that fails is refunded.

What is the price difference between Seedance 2.5 and Seedance 2.0?

A 4-second 720p clip is 630 credits on Seedance 2.5, 410 on 2.0 and 35 on 1.5 Pro. The gap closes with resolution: at 1080p it is 1,140 against 1,020, about 12% apart, because 1080p multiplies 2.0's base by 2.49x and 2.5's by 1.81x. All three take the same prompts, so one tuned on 1.5 Pro re-runs on 2.5 unchanged.

Seedance vs Kling: which should I use?

Price separates them. Four seconds of 720p is 140 credits on Kling 3.0 Pro against 630 on Seedance 2.5; at 1080p, 180 against 1,140. Kling 2.6 and 2.5 Turbo Pro only accept 5- or 10-second clips, so a 12-second unbroken take needs Seedance or Kling 3.0 Pro. Both run in the same studio on the same credits, so settle it by running one prompt on Seedance 1.5 Pro for 18 credits and the same prompt on Kling 3.0 Pro.

Do Seedance clips come with sound?

No. SynthPulse sends generate_audio as false on every Seedance 2.0 and 2.5 request, and 1.5 Pro is silent by default upstream, so the prices here are the no-audio tier. Add sound afterwards in an editor, or use Veo 3.1 Fast, the one video model here that is not muted on submit.

Is there a free Seedance option?

No. Every Seedance render calls a paid model, so it always spends credits. Free are the account itself and the AI lyrics generator. There is no subscription requirement, a one-time top-up works, and a render that fails returns the credits automatically.

How do I use Seedance 2.0?

Open the video studio, pick Seedance 2.0 from the model list, describe the shot, then set resolution, length and aspect ratio. Upload a still first for image-to-video. The button carries the exact credit cost of that combination before you submit, and the finished clip appears on the same screen rather than in a separate queue.

What resolutions and lengths does Seedance support?

480p, 720p and 1080p, at 4, 8 or 12 seconds, in 16:9, 9:16 or 1:1. Identical on 1.5 Pro, 2.0 and 2.5: the versions differ in price and output quality, not in what you may ask for. Seedance 2.5 accepts longer durations upstream, but the picker here stops at 12 seconds.

Is there a Seedance API here?

SynthPulse is a hosted interface, not an API reseller: there is no public Seedance endpoint to call with your own key here. What you get instead is Seedance already wired to a prompt box, resolution and length pickers, credit billing, automatic refunds on failure, and a library that keeps every finished clip.

What happens if a Seedance generation fails?

The credits go back. A generation that ends in failure is refunded to the balance it was charged from automatically, with no support ticket and no manual step.
